Wild Wild Weekend

A while ago Keiko sent the boys some "Japanese Legos", or at least that is what we called them. They are awesome but I could not remember the name of them and could not find them anywhere...until my trip to Mpls. I FOUND THEM! and picked up two boxes for Valentines Day.

This is the Kingfisher, it also makes a shark rhino and many other critters.
This is the frog, it also makes a chameleon, turtle and alligator and other critters. The best part is now i have the name and found a place online that I can order them!
We are in the middle of basketball season and Peter's team played Jamison's team. Both boys have good ball handling skills and defense but Jamison tends to use distraction to try to steal the ball away. This is his little dance to try to throw Peter off.
Our friend Matt had a lesson/day pass coupon for Tyrol Ski Hill and the boys wanted to give it a try.
Their instructor looked a little young but I guess that means that I am getting old. After the hour they could get up the tow rope, did pretty well with their "french fries" and needed to practice their "pizza" or as others know it as the snowplow. After a lunch break they were ready to give it more practice.
I was very grateful that our friend's dad was so willing to help out the boys and give them pointers. Thanks Mr. Jon! Jamison did great! just needs help stopping and getting up when he falls.
Peter did great and went super fast! Now if he could only tackle his fear of heights he could ride the chair lift.
Sunday was the circus...and boy was it. Pat was busy studying for another geek exam so I told the boys they could each invite a friend...and then one "friend" was a set of twins, before you know it I was scared. Fortunately the mom of twins was able to come with but we were still out numbered. The minute we sat down, the cotton candy vendor was there. It is scary to eat something the same color as your eyes. Good thing we have a dentist apt this week!
Jamison opted for candy since the cotton candy made him sick last year. Everyone had a good time and the dirt bike riders did not crash, unlike another circus a few weeks back.
We were disappointed in the tiger act but this one elephant made up for it!
We also started talking about the tree house that we hope to build this summer. Jamison started drawing up plans and interior layouts. I think they will be able to live out there the whole summer....he even made sure that they had games and books out there!. They are even planning on ordering take out from the local Cullen Family Restaurant, until i informed them of the delivery charge!

Wilderness Weekend

We have been very luck the past two years with illness. So When Jamison came home from school with a fever of 104° we invested in some IB/Tylenol and buckled in. Peter was soon to follow but within 48 hours both fevers broke. THEN, two days later, Peter has a fever again!. Strep has been in his class room since day 1...so my mommy instinct kicked in and brought him to the dr. Sure enough, Strep. bummer. Luckily we have been able to keep it to only him. When he returned to class...we learned the class now has pink eye....man, i hope we dont get that!
ANYWAY, We were lucky to get on the meds and head to the Wilderness Lodge for an awesome weekend with the ladies. It was a good thing that ladies called on friday...because we all thought that is wilderness weekend was the 18th....YIKES! so we packed quickly and headed out for a great weekend!
We arrived at the lodge all ready for some water fun. Both boys are officially tall enough to go on all the slides themselves. The water on the body slide was too cold for Peter's scrappy body so we enjoyed a few rounds of the lazy river and then he wanted to wrap up in a towel. So we did. With in 10 minutes Peter was out like a light....I guess he does not have all his energy back. After taco we got into our jammies for the classic "kids in a tub" photo. It never gets old, at least for the adults.
Jamison and Pat hit the Hurricane...waited the hour to do it, but Pat had an awesome time watching Jamison's face in shear horror. Jamison claimed that he loved the ride and was super proud of himself that he did it! So much he had to take the photo of it.
This year we also made it to the Water Dome with the largest wave pool in the country. At first the boys thought this would be boring, and then the first set of waves came. We spent the rest of Sunday morning there! They had a blast! Pat and I played man-on-man when the waves came. Our goal, is not have the boys trampled by the wave riders. I think Peter was getting a little annoyed with me because I would catch him when he got launched from his innertube...and we would call out...."Im fine!" and then overcome by another way, struggle to get up, sream "Im fine" and then get knocked down again.
We had to visit our friendly bear on our way to the ball pit and climbing gym. Soon the boys will be taller than he is.
The annual group photo...you think they liked each other....you know, they could stand closer.
Jamison insisted that I include this picture....you can see his six-pack abs. Thanks Lily and Lucy for another great wilderness weekend!
Blog post from Jamison
the wavepool  was  awesom! Me and Dad  went  on the Hurricane.Peter did not wont to go on the  Hurricane.Because  he  was  tired.  Jamison  wrote  this.

school project time

February brought on school projects. Projects that include research, note taking and clay/hot glue/paint/ glue the whole works.
Jamison did a report on Dienonychus...the dinosaur that may be the connection between dinosaurs and modern day birds. He made a clay model, not to size like me made Jake, the Harpy Eagle, but pretty nice nontheless.
Peter research James Monroe, the 5th President. He wanted John Adams but he was already taken.
We learned that he studied under Thomas Jefferson and was the third president to die on July 4th!. The bits of trivia you learn when you are doing grade school research projects.
Jamison was getting annoyed with his brother watching him play his DS....this was the only way he could hide from him.
The winter has been super crazy, so crazy the weeping willow got confused and started flowering...that usually doesnt flower til April. I hope spring comes soon!
