Final Barn Pictures

 The barn is done!
We dont have to think about it ever again! It is hard to tell but we went with a slate grey. It looks a little lighter than what I thought it would...maybe when the sun it out it will look different.
Thanks Uncle Sam for the tax returns. (although i would have rather had a vacation!)

Pre spring break activities

Spring has been unseasonably warm and we have tried to get out and enjoy it as much as we can.
We took Torre to New Glarus State Park for a nice hike, it was in the 80°s that day!
Everyone got some good excersize, fresh air. Jamison was so hot that he took off his shirt. He thought it was super weird that is was ok to not wear his shirt. All I know is that I hope we wore Torre out enough so she does not want to eat our cat.
The boys discovered a new skill, crossing their eyes. Peter's left eye can almost turn all the way around! I am a proud mom.
Jamison tends to laugh before he can get them super crossed.
The barn needs a new roof. After obtaining a bunch of bids, steel and shingle, we decided on steel. The best part is that Pat wont be up on the roof and it will be done in a couple days. ALSO, (ideally) we will never have to do it again!
I do like hiring big jobs like this! Final pictures to follow!

Spring is here early.

The weather here has been amazing and we have been spending a lot of time outside!
The boys were down by the squirrell playground again and feel comfortable heading down on their own. Down by the creek bed they were balancing on this fallen tree.
Peter got a little spring in his walk across the log!
Back up at the house we broke out the roller blades. They had no interest in trying them last year...but this year they were all into it. Who is going to be the first one with a broken wrist??? Jamison is just like his mother....when concentrating...the tongue comes out.
Peter made sure to have his biking gloves on...at least keep the skin on the hands as long as he can.
The scooters came out also...they are pros at that though.
When are those teeth going to come in Jamison???
I can see it now....America's Funniest Videos....Youtube next viral video....or poster for stupid things not to do when roller blading. Peter did not get very far.
Yes, Peter's feet are that big!
Jamison found my old skateboard and gave that a try. They do look different than the ones the kids have now-a-days. You got to love the banana board!.
With a little more practice we might be spending time up at the skate park doing the half pipe. I am sure we would have at least one trip to the ER.
Thursday the boys did not have school, conferences. They are both doing well and learning a thing or two. They found some deer bones in the woods and wanted to clean them up a bit. If you give a boy a bucket of water I guess the natural thing to do is to start a water fight with your brother. Look at that white pastey skin!
Later in the day, we took to the trails for some spring hiking. The boys packed up a bag with binoculars, paper and a snack.
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
Jamison stopped and took the opportunity to draw a picture of a really cool rock. He then added his mother, brother and self to it!. I get to bring it to school and put it on my desk! I love boy artwork!
WE ARE ON TOP OF THE WORLD!! We cant believe that it is almost 80° in March. We are loving it!

Squirrel and Racoon Playground

It's been a while...in part that we have had some quiet weekends and in part I have been a bad blogger. So here it goes.
The boys had the opportunity to spend some of their hard earned money. Ninjago has been the cool thing around here lately...so we had some additions to our collection.
The boys got ahold of my camera and had an elaborate photoshoot with the ninja masters. Here are some of the best.
We have an new short term addition to the family. Torre, gma and gpa's dog is here with us for a few weeks. Peter is happy to have a big cuddly dog...Indy, the cat, is really not happy. The poor thing is not able to come down to the main level of the house with out being attacked. Good thing all of his needs can be met upstairs.
This time of year we like to head into the woods behind the house. No mosquitos, no weedy understory and you can still see the house. This the the squirrell playground. The boys made some additions inspired by Survivor.
Boys hard at work, work boys work! Our german rain pants still fit and are still the best thing ever! A boys can dig around in the mud and dirt all he wants and will not have his mother mad for being all muddy.
The woodland critters are expanding...we have this addition, the raccoon playground. It is a bit smaller that the squirrel playground but would provided a little more protection from the weather...just as long as you dont get stuck going through.
I will be better at updating the blog. I promise mom and dad. I the mean time we will be outside as much as possible enjoying this amazing spring weather!
