Peter's teacher is pregnant, expecting a girl late summer. The para's and kids planned a special surprise baby shower for her. The kids did a really good job with keeping a secret...until the last day. She was on to them, she knew something was going to happen.
Peter can not contain his excitement!
Each kid decorated a fabric square and the para quilted it together to make a very sweet baby quit.
The kids also put together a book of baby advise. Peter said "make sure to change its poopy diaper." Another child reminded her that she needs to "milk the baby". This is Mrs. Guski's first child but I think she would figure out that that wont work. The music teacher taught the kids a lullaby and they did a wonderful job singing it....it made Mrs Guski cry....and a couple other parents that came for the surprise. We are all excited for the arrival of the new baby!
More soccer...this time the Cullen brothers were against each other. Technically Peter's team won but we dont highlight that...both kids had some great plays!
Jamison was inspired one day to create a new recipe. Coleslaw'ed eggs. Like deviled eggs but instead of the yolk filling, he filled the eggs with broccoli slaw. Watch out Food Network....I think you have your new star!

Happy Mother's Day
Many years ago, long before we had kids, I saw this greeting card. It was geek related. We were hoping to have kids one day so I bought it. It was cute. Maybe I knew, deep down, that someday I would have this life. Twin boys, one with long hair, one with short, husband with short hair and glasses, orange/brown cat and coffee close at hand.
The card reads "The server's down! Time to relax and enjoy your Mother's Day. And I did. I had one request....coffee made and served to me! And they did a great job. I enjoyed my coffee and some time to my self. The boys worked on their tree house..
The tree house...like an amish barn....all the neighbors came to help raise the platform, all hands were needed.
The boys spent all of Sunday working on it. Most of the floor boards are down. Patrick reported that Jamison was an awesome worker, listened to and followed instruction and worked all day long! (sometimes the two of them butt head over tasks).
Peter worked for a bit but was soon "tired" and enjoyed the rest of the time picking flowers for me, walking in the woods and playing board games with me. Once the sides are up I will feel more comfortable with them all up there. This will be the most sturdy treehouse around! There are talks about guards, slingshots and secret ID badges.

This and that
Soccer season is in full swing. Practice two nights a week and games on saturday. It has been a bit chilly and rainy but the boys are sure getting some good work outs.
Construction on the tree house has begun! Jamison has been super interested and helpful in the design and contruction. I think Peter is more interested in the final product. I am glad to see safety is a priority!
I have been surprised at how well Jamison has listened to instruction and patiently waited for tasks for hime to so. Transporting and handing tools have been most of the work up until this point.
But Pat assured him when the base is up he can be the one that hammers the floor boards in. So in the mean time......
He practiced with some scrap pieces of wood. Now I have a beautiful piece of art!. And so far there was only one smashed, bloody finger!
While they were working on on the tree house Peter and I were trimming dead branches and cutting out the nasty tent caterpillers. When it came to moving the trimmed branches it soon became only me...Peter was done working.
An awesome score at a garage sale...The game of Life...$0.25! Peter made it through with out any children. I had a set of twin boys that I named Jamison and Peter!
I thought this was cute....Pat combing Peter's hair. It is almost long enough for a pony tail although I doubt he will ever pull it back into one. The recent humid air has really brought out the curl!
