Wilderness Weekend with the ladies

A friday off of school + cold weather + no good snow = mario time!
Some days you just got to do it.
We are storing our energy for our Wilderness weekend with the ladies! Water park fun! Wave pools, lazy river, body slides, bad paid for tatoos and inappropriate swimware oh my!
Sunday morning...Lily thought Peter's hair was awesome. I think he needs to take lessions on braiding...
Classic couch photo....my how they are growing!
This was our first year together...seems like ages ago!
And our bathtub photo...limbs are already hanging out...I think there will be a point when they just dont fit in there.
This year, both tried the Black Hole water ride. Peter was very nervous but ultimately gave it a thumbs up. Jamison throught it was pretty cool also. Peter tried the body slide...again hit his head so he is not a fan. Jamison could do it all day! Way to go!
Looks like a very successful weekend. 4 tired kiddos! Thanks Lily and Lucy!
So Peter has a dolphin cuddle friend that usually joins us on weekends with the ladies. The ladies really loved dolphin. This year, Peter told Lily that she could bring him to her house and take care of him until they see each other again. Lily was soooo excited. After his first night Peter emailed Lily asking how he did...Shelby reported that dolphin is getting more cuddles than he can handle. Lily said he swam around in her bed all night! I am glad they he is getting some love!

Thanks again Lily and Lucy, cant wait for next year!

Another slow couple weeks

On Monday Jamison and Peter declared that it was not fair that I always cooked what I wanted (even though suggestions are offered and made each night).
So the boys decided to make menu and give me a break from cooking. The prepared menu included salads, appetizers and a main meal.
Preparation of the mise en place began with Wini close, under food, with hopes to catch a morsel.
The restaurant style menu had to be adjusted a little bit. I think the chefs were a little too adventursome in the list of items and the number of people they were serving.
Jamison was inspired by gpa Don and created salmon fish balls. They were pretty tasty.
The spread was very colorful and tasty. I really need to take more days off and have the boys cook. Now, if only they were tall enough to do the dishes too!
It has been a pretty slow month. A couple teeth lost, a lot of cold weather with not a lot of fun snow, and a minor laser surgery. Jamison had a couple spider angiomas on his face. After a visit to the pediatric dermatologist we decided to have a quick laser proceedure to take care of them. He was trooper and now has a couple small bruises that will clear up in a few days. Who can say they were attacked by "lasers"

a whole month in review

Our January can be summed up in a couple words....basketball, soccer, geek tests and cold weather.
The boys had their first basketball tournament in New Glarus. For their first real game they did not do too bad! They did a lot of learning in a very short time!.
We know that we need to work on ball handling, passing and rebounds.
The last game of the tournament was a nailbiter. They were tied through much of the game, and the other team scored with the last few seconds left. Bummer. Nice job boys!
We also finished up our round of winter indoor soccer. These nutballs quickly picked up the fast pace game and can be summed up by a Jamison quote "I sweat in places that I never knew that I could sweat before"!

Other than that we have been trying to stay busy and warm. Patrick was busy studying and we have been busy trying to stay out of his way. Not too many fun pictures around that!.
